All kids deserve a chance for success.
Soccer in the Streets creates sustainable youth development programs
that cultivate change, progress, and positive opportunities.
Meet Tavaris

In Tavaris' apartment complex, there are a lot of problems with drugs – both users and dealers – so it’s vital that the kids have a diversion that takes them out of that environment on a regular basis.

Tavaris is about as easy going a kid as they come.  Everyone calls him “Bob.”  He started playing soccer for fun at the apartments.  Soon he started bringing his little brothers with him.  At first, “Boo Man” was too young and Bob almost had to give up playing soccer, because he had to be responsible for his brother.

Whether it was for the love of soccer or the love of his brother, Bob took the time to teach him how to play and looked out for him.  Now all three brothers, Bob, Kentrail and Boo Man, play together and look out for each other.  They spend time with their coach and listen attentively, learning all that they can.

Their mom appreciates that someone is taking time with her boys and keeping them out of trouble.  Soccer has been the ticket to seeing other places, other people and being a responsible team player.
